Shipping Policy

chord ships hand-painted oil paintings worldwide via tracked express courier. All listed prices are DDP all-inclusive — meaning shipping, customs duties, and any local taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax) are already built into the price. You won't be asked to pay anything extra on delivery.
1. Where we ship
chord currently ships to 6 countries:

If you're outside these 6 countries, you'll see a "Coming soon to {your country}" message on the product page. Drop your email there — we'll notify you when we open shipping to your region.
We're working on adding the EU (Germany, France, Spain, Italy), Mexico, Hong Kong, and Taiwan in the months ahead.
2. Total time from order to your door

For specific deadline-driven orders (e.g. Father's Day, anniversary), we strongly recommend ordering at least 3 weeks early to account for customs inspection delays.

Order by 2026-06-05 23:59 SGT for delivery before Father's Day (2026-06-21) to the 6 supported countries above. Orders after that date may still arrive in time but we can't guarantee it.
3. Carriers
We ship via tracked express courier:
- DHL Express (primary for international)
- UPS (US, Canada)
- FedEx (US, some EU routes)
- Local last-mile (SingPost in Singapore, Japan Post in Japan)
You'll receive a tracking number by email when your painting ships. Each painting is shipped in protective packaging (rigid mailer or wooden crate depending on size).
4. Customs, duties, VAT — DDP all-inclusive
We ship DDP (Delivered Duty Paid). This means:
- Duties paid by chord. You don't get a duty bill at delivery.
- VAT / GST / sales tax paid by chord. The price you saw includes it.
- Customs documentation prepared by chord. You don't fill in any forms.
Rare exception: certain countries occasionally hold packages for ID verification (typically Brazil, Mexico, or specific addresses). If this happens we'll email you a copy of the customs declaration to forward — no extra fees, just paperwork.
5. Address changes
Once a painting is in transit, the address is generally locked. Before the painting ships you can request an address change by emailing dylan@chord.gift with your order number — please do this within 5 days of order so it doesn't delay production.
Wrong address provided at checkout → the painting may be returned to us by the courier. We'll contact you to confirm a re-ship; a reasonable reshipment fee may apply for clear customer-entry errors (we'll quote it explicitly before charging).
6. Failed delivery
The courier will typically attempt delivery 2-3 times before returning the package. If you miss all attempts:
- We'll email you to coordinate a re-ship.
- For first-time return-to-sender we cover one free reshipment.
- For repeated failed deliveries due to incorrect/incomplete addresses, a reasonable handling fee applies.
7. Damage in transit
If the painting arrives damaged (visible crate damage, canvas tear, frame broken), photograph it immediately and email us within 7 days of delivery. We'll repaint at no cost, or full refund — see Returns & Refunds tier 4.
8. Lost packages
If tracking shows no movement for 14+ days and the courier confirms the package is lost, we repaint and reship at no cost. We'll keep you in the loop while the courier investigates.
